In keeping with international procedures and requirements, Samarth constituted an Institutional Ethics Committee in September 2014. Comprised of a chair and nine independent members, the committee is responsible for reviewing, approving, and monitoring the ethical aspects of projects Samarth proposes to participate in. The primary goal of the committee is to safeguard the dignity, rights, and well being of potential research participants.
The multidisciplinary committee consists of clinicians, social scientists, a legal professional, and a lay community member, ensuring a competent, well rounded review of proposals free from bias.
